  • Question

  • Hello, I got visual studio 2013 express for WinDesktop on my Win7. Before the install my PC said it had 110gb-112gb of space used(500gb HDD). After I installed VS it was 123gb used.

Later on I uninstalled it and it only took it down to 119gb used. I didn't install anything else in between. I found a few VS12 and 2013 files after the uninstallation.

How can I clean it up properly?

    Cheers!

  • Hello David,

The reason is Visual Studio installed some shared components which will not be uninstalled at that time. For details please check the following article:

    https://support.microsoft.com/kb/2771441

If you haven't uninstalled Visual Studio, please use this command when uninstall: /uninstall /force

If you have already uninstall VS, please refer to the components list to remove those shared components.

    Best regards,

    Barry
