Hyperv Virtual Machine Console not working RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi Guys,

I have a windows 2003 Hyperv Guest running on Windows 2008 64b Hyperv server. It has been running without issue for a few years but just recently the Hyperv Virtual Machine Console has stopped responding.

I was having problem with RDP as well but a couple of turnoff, restarts has allowed me to RDP to the System. If I look in the Guest Screen shot at the bottom of Hyperv it shows the correct status of the Sytem, EG, Screen Saver or Log on screen. Please also note shutdown guest also is not working and a turnoff is required.

Yet when every I try to connect to Virtual Machine console I get Timed out while trying to connect to the virtual Machine.

All other Virtual Machine on Host are not having a problem. Restarting HyperV services does not seem to help.

I have search the web and not finding any helpful information.

Does anyone have any helpful suggestion on how to fix this issue?

  • Hi Asim,

I patch and rebooted the system and all looks to be working well. It looks like it was a temporary issue.

  • Hi,

Try to connect to the windows 2003 server remotely using servername /admin.

This will fix the issue of RDP and take a look in the server.
