  • Hi,

According to your description of the problem, I can give you some ideas.

    1.    If your solution is not Office Add-in application, you can use Visual Studio create a package and it is very simple. Here is a link about how to create a Visual Basic installation Package.

    2.    If your solution is Office Add-In application, there are two ways about deploy an Office solution in Visual Studio. The one is ClickOnce, the other one is Windows Installer. ClickOnce is simpler than Windows Installer. Here are two links about deployment by using ClickOnce and Windows Installer.

  • Hi, thanks for the above reply. What is MSI? Is that used for deployment? Sorry for the late response?

  • Hi Jnr,

MSI is a kind of file which is created by Window installer.

  • Hi Tom,

Thanks for your response. I have created a MSI, but I would like to know how do I deploy a package using MSI?

I currently copy the .exe from the "bin" folder, and the .exe on another PC (PC is networked) and run that .exe from the networked PC.

Also, what is the difference between what I am currenlty doing as compared to deploying a MSI package?
