Continuously reading data from a socket connection using Windows Runtime

    Question

  • Hi,

I'm currently learning how to develop windows 8 apps using XAML/C++/CX, coming from a C++ background. How would I go about continuously reading data from a socket connection using Windows Runtime? I tried reverting to the way I'd do it using winsock, but I get the identifier undefined error, even though I've included the winsock2 header(probably not that simple is it :)). Having looked at the StreamSocket example code for windows 8 apps, it seems I can only read as much data as I know is there. In my context this isn't always possible, and I'd like to read everything as and when it comes. Any help/suggestions would be much appreciated.

    Theardy.
