Dailog Box and touch screen RRS feed

  • Hi,

         I am using dialog box which contains edit control . this dialog box is of size 10x10 .... now when user points through stylus  in area  outside  dialog box area  , I  should  get  some event  with help of which i should be able to decide to close dialog  box . but i am not getting any event when user points outside dialog box with stylus but just a beep sound. how to handle this.

  • Thanks for reply , I am actually working on pocket  pc  using c++  in visual studio . article u described is mainly for .net framework. Any help will be appreciated.
    Is there no way by which I can actually get event when user presses outside edit control .... only thing happening right now is beep sound.....need respective event for tht so that I can close dialog at tht particular event.

  • Hi,

    Even though th blog posting details the Compact Framework, you should be able to the same technique (Custom Form) in your C++ to achieve the same end result.

    The problem you are facing is that when you ShowDialog on a form then that forms needs to be actioned before control can return to your previous form. Until the new form is actioned then the previous form will not respond to any user interaction, as you have discovered.
