Sharepoint list - Calculated field check and flag RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I am trying to configure a calculated field B, which checks another 'Multi-value' look-up field A. Is there a calculation formula by which Field A can check a string ABC and flags the field B with a 'Yes'. if  the value is not found  in Field A, Field B should mark a 'No'.

    Please advise,

    Thank you!

  • hi

because you canțt use lookup columns in calculated columns

    a workaround

In the lookup column create a calculated column which will check the neededd value

Next in the destination list , add ( check ) that calculated column from lookup column

  • Hi Romeo,

Thank you for the reply. Unfortunately, I am not sure if I understood the exact step, as I am not an expert on this configuraiton. My source column is "Choice".

How do I create a Calculated column in the lookup column? Can you advise on this please?

    Thank you!

  • Hi stct,

By default, we can't found the lookup field in calculated field Formula. As a workaround, we can create a Yes/No field(named FieldB, set default value is No), then create a SharePoint designer workflow to set the FieldB value base on the FieldA value.
