HCK : Sleep and PNP (disable and enable) with IO Before and After Test : Athena Smart Card Requirement RRS feed

  • Question

  • Is there any way to bypass the Athena Smart Card requirement when running the Sleep and PNP HCK test?

    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/hardware/hh852378.aspx#X-201205241641326

We are running this on a Filter Driver for silicon that has absolutely nothing to do with smart cards..or IPv6..or CD-ROM's..or microphone endpoints. What is the purpose of having these devices installed and tested when the target device for our HCK is completely unrelated? Those devices should be requirements at a platform level HCK test for Windows 8.

    Thank you.

  • Did you try running HCK with your driver?. I dont think that requirement list is common for all devices. If you run for a smartcard reader then Athena card becomes mandatory. We ran HCK for a USB driver it never required a smartcard reader or athena card.

  • Hello Karthikeyan - we are running HCK on a disk filter driver. I do not have control over the tests being selected by the HCK controller.
