How to make a third party weakly named assembly a strongly named assembly? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm aware of the ilmerge.exe tool that can help doing that.
Is there a way to achieve that same result with the tools sn.exe, al.exe and maybe csc.exe (or other built-in tools).
    Thanks

  • Yes there is way.

You can do ildasm, ilasm to round trip your assembly.
The tool Signer does this in a more convenient way for you:

  • Thanks for the information.
When adding a new tool to or development tool chain, then I need to validate that tool.
That's why I'm asking for a "plain" solution with the given tools.

Your suggestion is very interesting, anyways.

    Thanks again.
