  • Hi,

How to retrieve a video stream from an IP camera totally depends on the manufacturer of the IP camera. As far as I know, for most IP cameras, you cannot get a stream directly. They usually provide a URL to retrieve snapshots of the current camera. This URL might be configurable in the IP camera's configurations, or it might be documented in the User Guide. You might need to contact the manufacturer if you cannot find out what this URL is.

If you use a Media Streaming Server to stream the video (for example: through mms://), if so, it should work in WPF, all you need is to set the MediaElement.Source property to mms://Path.

If you just want to show your IP camera in your WPF application, you might also want to check out this open source project on CodePlex.COM.
