Moving my WCF Data Service to a WCF Service RRS feed

  • Question

  • Good day,

I've been running a WCF Data Service for some time now with no issues, but as I've been asking it to do more, it's becoming clear that I should be moving to a full-fledged WCF Service solution. One of the things that I've found annoying about WCF Data Service is that you cannot have your service class's properties derived from base classes (e.g. if you are exposing the property IQueryable<Apple>, you cannot have class Apple derive from class Fruit) and that alone has made the WCF Data Service a pain as the requirements on my project grow.

That being said, I was wondering if there were any useful tips and tricks to moving a significantly sized code base from WCF Data Service to a WCF Service. Any and all pointers are welcome.
