Entity Framework Update Model from Database wizard issue RRS feed

  • After installing visual studio sp1 and some other upgrades on my dev box, when i try to update model from database this is what happens:

    it opens the update wizard screen to select the connection and then when i press next it shows me an error message box like this:


    When i checked the missing assembly (Microsoft.VisualStudio.Data.Tools.Design.Common.dll) i found out i have the newer version 10.2.11213.0 and not the one visual studio is trying to load! I have reinstalled everything, like Visual Sudio SP1 but no luck.

    Any Idea?

  • Just replaced the new dll with the old one and resolved the issue!

  • That's not a FIX. The SQL Data Tools then will not work. So all you have done is swap one non-functional item for another.

    It appears a manifest file is not being updated during the install of SQL Data Tools .

    I'm seeing this exact same issue. I'm not quite sure I understand what you did to resolve this issue. Can you give a little more explanation?
