Debugging info on one computer, not on the other? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Greetings,

I've written an application that, in the event of an exception, gives very detailed stack-trace information on one computer (running XP Pro), but gives very little information on another computer (also running XP Pro).  I'm wondering what's different about the former that allows it to relay more verbose error messages?  I'm not changing compile-time options between the two (are there even options in VS 2005 to turn debug info on in Release mode?)

  • Information such as line numbers require that PDB (Program Database) files are available.  Have you copied the PDB files along side your EXE's and DLL's to the other computer?
