  • while VSS DB upgrade by DDupd utility,am getting below error:

    C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual SourceSafe>Ddupd \\XXXXXX\VSS
    Begun converting database for VSS 6.0 performance enhancements.
    Invalid DOS path: $/

    Thanks for your post.

    I think this issue is caused by SourceSafe ssapi.dll was not correctly register on the server.

    Could you please try the following command to register it again?

    On a 64 bit Operating System: 

    regsvr32 "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual SourceSafe\ssapi.dll"

    On a 32 bit Operating System: 

    regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual SourceSafe\ssapi.dll"

    If it doesn't help, be free to let me know.

    The path for DDUPD command was wrong.It should be C:\VSS\Data

    now resolved and I went ahead with migration.
