BUILD Memories app

    Question

  • Is the source for the Memories app that is in the Dev Preview available? The JS Conference app is in the SDK samples. It would be nice to have a more substantial XAML/C# app available.

    Thanks.

  • That particular sample is not, but all of the samples that have been published are available from this link.  Was there something in particular about this sample that was interesting to you, orther than it being a larger C#/XAML app?

    Sincerely,

    Dan

  • I was interested in the bits and pieces from the samples being put together in a larger context - edit mode, animations, overall navigation model...

    Thanks.

  • Hi Greg,

At this time, there isn't a plan to release that particular sample.  The BUILD conference application was publiished as a sample so you can see the larger context of building a full app.  You can download it from http://code.msdn.microsoft.com/windowsapps/Conference-app-sample-b65444b0.

Thank you for your interest in the samples!

    Sincerely,

    Dan

  • The conference app is a Javascript app only. What's with the aversion to providing useful managed code samples to developers?
The imbalance even extends to the preliminary documentation. In short, Microsoft's new attitude to managed code developers borders on gratuitously obstructive.

The Memories app is specifically referenced by several of the conference speakers in their session videos, and from what I recall specifically as an example of a managed code Metro application, which is why it would have been particularly useful.

    It's a shame.
