Reg: Time Out error during back end refresh RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I have an sp that takes more than an hour to retreive the data. When I put it to refresh in the backend I'm getting time out error. I'm trying to optimize the queries but wanted to know if it is possible  to increase the preset 1 hr time in Power pivot 2012 (or Old version).

Inputs on this asap is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    Regards,

    Sinister

  • As of today, PowerPivot doesnt support you customizing the timeout value because PowerPivot is for Infomation Worker who typically doesnt deal with more than a few millions of rows of data.

Or if you use BISM to build a model, you can partition the data so that they can be loaded separately. (again, partition is an enterprise feature that is not available in PowerPivot addin)
