Topoedit H264 / Greyscale MFT RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I'm currently trying to make the leap from Directshow, but seem to be struggling with this issue:

I am trying to use Topoedit to load an H264 video and then insert the Greyscale MFT as found in the SDK samples folder.  Without loading the Greyscale filter, the video renders fine, but as soon as I try to insert the Greyscale MFT after the H264 decoder and resolve the topology I get the following error:

    Topology Resolution Failed.

No suitable transform was found to encode or decode the content.

The color space output from the H264 MFT is NV12 which is supported by the Greyscale filter.

Does anyone have any ideas why this is?  The greyscale filter works fine if I use a WMV file.

    Thanks in advance!

  • The only other limitation that the greyscale MFT has is that the input must not be interlaced.  Is the MPEG4 content you are dealing with interlaced (MF_MT_INTERLACE_MODE != 2)?
