Repeat table header rows across pages RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • Many a times we come across situations where the records entered in a word table becomes so large that the table streaches across pages. For Example we have a table which has records of employees completing a training and their score in the exam. The table has some 800 employee names and table is spread across 8 pages of a word document.

    Employee ID

    Employee name

    Designation

    Group name

    Test completed (Yes/No)

    Score

    1010287

    Ravi Sekar

    Manager

    BRC

    Yes

    90

    1010288

    Rama Shankar

    Manager

    BSX

    Yes

    80

    1010289

    Rohit Bal

    Manager

    BSX

    Yes

    80

    1010290

    Rohan Sharma

    Manager

    BSX

    Yes

    80

When the table is spread across pages it becomes necessary to have table headers in all the pages. We have achieve this by following the steps below

Place the cursor on the header row and Click on the Layout sub-tab under Table Tools tab. Note the ribbon, on the extream right hand side under the "Data" group there is a button called "Repeat Header Row". Click of this button to record the currect row as Header row.

Now select the entire table by right click. choose the option "Table Properties". Open the "Table" tab and go to section called "Text wrapping". Select "None and click on "OK"

Now your table is ready to repeat the table header across pages.
