MFT Encode H264 at low bitrate gets repeated frames RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am using MFT to encode H264 at low bitrate (actually not that low, such as 10Mbps).

Some of my source pictures have a lot of details. So I notice MFT starts up output repeated frame (of size 20 bytes only).

For more details, my fps = 24. bit rate = 10Mbps, so average encoded frame size should be around 50kbytes.

However, I noticed when MFT reaches those highly detailed pictures, it starts to output frames of size 100k ~ 500k bytes, after that 20bytes frames.

I suspect this is because MFT wants to favour the average bit rate.

My platform is SDK 7, which is a must and I can only use unconstrained VBR mode.

I want to ask if there is a way to fix this problem, or it is a MFT bug on SDK7? Thanks.
