GridView item holding event RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm trying to use a holding event on GridView item's but it seams, that it doesn't work in my case...maybe because I try to capture this event with mouse?

    IsHoldingEnabled="True" Holding="resultsGridView_Holding"

    private void resultsGridView_Holding(object sender, HoldingRoutedEventArgs e) { Debug.WriteLine(123); }

    So when I hold item, nothing happens...

  • Hi Klemzy,

    Yes, exactly, mouse action cannot fire holding event, see the remark section for holding: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-US/library/windows/apps/windows.ui.xaml.uielement.holding.aspx

    Touch can produce a Holding action, but mouse devices generally can't. For more info, see Quickstart: Touch input.
