HTTP Adapter and Special Characters RRS feed

  • Question

I am using the Biztalk HTTP adapter for calling a webservice.  Is there a setting on the adapter that I can set to handle special characters in the text of my message?

Let me be more specific...I have a message that I'm sending to a webservice that has an umlaut in the text.  I've been told that I need to change the encoding to be ISO-8859-1.  I've done that on the message itself (in my xslt within my orchestration), but that doesn't make a difference.  I now understand that it has to be set on the http request.  But, I'm not sure where I would change that on my HTTP send port.  It uses an xmltransmit on the send pipeline, and I see a a target-charset on that configuration, but I set it to ISO-8859-1, and that still doesn't solve my problem.  Any help or guidance would be appreciated.
