  • From which child field element in the EDI837D single claim schema do we get the claim number?

  • Correct. CLM01 cotnains the sender claim number. Other times, clearing houses may use a REF segment right below the CLM segment. Remeber that the CLM number is unique on the sender but will not be unique on your system if yuo are getting claims from multiple submitters.
