  • Question

  • I am developing a VSTO Outlook add-in to integrate Outlook with my enterprise application. I have a requirement where I need to drag email messages from outlook and drop into my web based application that is opened in left inside a task pane.I want to know is there any way to develop this kind of feature and does Outlook even support this?

  • Thanks RLWA32.

@Yagya, sorry for late response. As RLWA32 said, you can get the code from Drag and drop Outlook items as files into any application site.

Also, for the IDropTarget interface, you can refer to the following link:

  • Hi Yagya,

Have you checked the following post:

    Drag-and-drop Outlook message into browser

I noticed that the IDropTarget interface, maybe you could create your own implementation for this.

    Hopefully it helps you.

  • Hi Simon,

Thanks for considering my request. I went through your link but didn't find any potential resource that can resolve my problem. I researched and found out that browsers accept only CF_HDROP format of DND object but outlook encapsulates these files in other formats. Can you please provide me any example related to implementation of IDropTarget interface that can convert outlook format into browser acceptable format(CF_HDROP)

    Thanks in advance.
