Add/Link excel data to project server 2010/2013 RRS feed

  • Question

  • We have 2010 EPM solution.

Unfortunately, the software that recognizes the cost of projects is not easy. Currently, I have a small excel report with funding provided by the project name (equal to EPm) and cost since launch.

I would like to create a customfield and get to import this value in the schedule. I can believe that with vba I would get to my goal (like when open schdule look into this file...). The problem is at the project manager using PWA.

Is someone an idea of the best way to get there?

We plan to switch to project server 2013.

    Sincerely,

  • If this is just for one or two people, VBA is by far the simplest and quickest solution. Add a VBA macro in Project Pro for the project to read in the data. It will then get to PWA after publishing. To get the data into Project Server any other way requires more advanced development work using PSI calls. You can't link to Project Server.
