Use of Bing Maps REST Service Geocoder RRS feed

  • Question

  • Can I use (licence-wise) the free Bing Maps Rest Server Geocoding (within the 125.000/year limit) within a Web App System, if the geocoded results is displayed on a non Bing Map (user request e.g. OpenStreetMap)

  • This is against the terms of use. The geocoding data can only be displayed on top of either the Bing Maps map layers (road/aerial...), or Ordnance survey maps. If the reason for this question is that you want to use a map control other than the Bing maps control, the Bing Maps map layers are available in a lot of different map controls such as Leaflet, OpenLayers, ArcGIS and many more. It is even possible to use the map layers in a completely custom map control as well. All of these solutions require a Bing Maps key to access the maps.
