vba code in stored proc RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

Is it possible to manipulate Excel file using Stored proc?

This is what the stored proc does:

    1) populate a sheet, named Datasheet, in the excel with database data - Done using openrowset function

    2) the excel file has another sheet, named Summary, with formulas referencing the data in sheet datasheet.

    3) I want to do a "copy-and-Paste-Value" in sheet Summary.  Is this possible in Stored proc?

Can please help me point to readings on how to manipulate excel (vba) in Stored proc?

Thanks very much for the help.
