  • Hi,

My company gave me a new laptop and i installed a licensed copy of visual studio 2012, i am very much used to visual studio 2010 and Entity Framework, but in VS2012 its seems be screwed. google seems to be not having clear answers and neither does msdn.

Could not load file or assembly 'EntityFramework, Version=4.4.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089' or one of its dependencies. The located assembly's manifest definition does not match the assembly reference. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80131040)

  • It looks like the code is referencing the version 4.4.

Try referencing the new version, if things work for you, good.

Else you have to switch back by downloading the older version and build your solution.

You can get the compatible version from this location
