Push and periodic notifications client-side samples (Windows 8) problems

  • Hello everyone, 



    I'm trying to run the Push and periodic notifications client-side sample. I already tried all samples (c++ ,c# , javascript ) and all fail when try to get the channel. 

    C++ and  C# samples fail on CreatePushNotificationChannelForApplicationAsync call . 

    The javascript sample get  that error when it 's calling openChannelAndUploadAsync

    0x803e011a - JavaScript runtime error: The notification platform is unable to retrieve the authentication credentials required to connect to the cloud notification service.

    I've already associated the samples with a store app. 

    Does anyone have any suggestions ?

  • I've fixed my issue.

    The problem was that my machine was registered with SwitchToInt.bat from the XBoxLIVE SDK, in order to work with other features.

    PNs apparently only work in Prod environments, so when testing PNs you need to call  SwitchToProd.bat in your XBoxLIVE SDK folder.

    I have not found this mentioned anywhere on the docs, the samples or the forums.

    If anyone knows where this is mentioned, please let me know.
