.NET Winform App on Windows 8 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I have developed an application which has below specs:

.NET Winforms Application (Framework3.5), Printer Driver

When I print a document on the printer (custom built using WDK), it creates postscript then invokes .NET exe through VC++ console app. To bypass the UAC in Win7, I have created a VC++ console app which uses CreateProcessAsUser to invoke .NET exe.

This I have tested in Win7 (64bit), XP, Win Server 2003 and It works.

Now I need to support Win8 as well. But when I install the same in Win8, after print , driver creates postscript but is not able to invoke .NET exe. I think CreateProcessAsUser is not able to do its job?

Do I need to enable something else to work?

    Any thoughts?
