Sharepoint - Infopath repeating table validation RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

We have a repeating table in an infopath 2007 form. We require that the user doesnot input any blank rows to the repeating table. We need to validate this without using any code behind of infpath 2007. Can we achieve this.

    Thanks in advance

  • Hi,

Using this method, the user will get an error on submitting the form for the first time but on saving, he will get a message that the form has errors and he is asked if he still wants to save and so the user can ignore this and save but to overcome this you can do the saving using a submit button, where the action of the button is submit and in the data connection settings (allow override if file exists) and in form options uncheck the save and save as to force the user to use the button, by this way he won't be able to save till he inserts values.

    Hope this helps.

  • Hi,

Why don't you validate a field from the table by selecting "can't be blank"? By this way whenever the user add a row, it will be validated till he enters a value in this field.

  • Hi,

Thanks for the quick reply. But will this stop Saving a form by the user. We require to block the saving of the form if the validation fails.

    We cant use Submit option.

    Thanks in advance
