this.User.Identity.Name always null RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

I have managed to set up ADFS 2.0 on a Windows 2008 standard and a WIF application in Visual studio 2008. My user account authenticates against the ADFS but when I look at the User.Identity.Name it is always null. I can see the claims in the identity object but the name shows null. Am I missing something?

    Thank you

    Fred

  • For the Name property to be properly populated - ADFS needs to emit a Name claim.

This can be re-configured - but by default WIF is looking for a Name claim.
