How to add Outlook Add In in All Machine ? RRS feed

  • Hello to 

    I have made a Utility while Any use is accept the appointment My "Outlook AddIn 2010" event is called and status is change in SQL DataBase.

    It is work on Local machine Smoothly, Data inserted in database while i accept the event.

    Now i have to install this plugin in All other machine to access this functionality ?

    We have exchange server and around 50 users, So How can configure this plugin in all machine.

    I have setup in another machine but Database entry is not done. So what i have to do ?

    Please reply me ASAP if you any one know.

  • You need to create an Installer and then deploy that via whatever software distribution system you have in your corp (or GPO).

    Really I think you've gone about solving the problem in the wrong way...

    Installing an Outlook addin on every computer is messy and if you find a bug in your addin you need to roll the update to every single user.

    Even if you succeed, what happens if someone accepts an appointment using OWA or OMA ??

    A server side solution (probably using EWS) would probably make a lot more sense as there is only one installation (not one for every user) and it covers all your users regardless of what platform they use to check their email / accept appointments.
