Transfer images and documents from a certain folder in my azure website to azure blobs RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a website hosted on azure platform. The website has images and documents stored under the root directory of the website in ~/Imgs and ~/Docs folders.

I need to transfer all the files under above two folders to an azure blobs storage account. I'll be using command like below from Azure CLI.

My problem is how to specify the first parameter that says `C:\myDirectory' for source location.  Can I just give a url path like 'https://www.mysite.com/Imgs' or 'https://www.mysite.com/Docs'  for the source location parameter?

    azcopy copy 'C:\myDirectory' 'https://mystorageaccount.dfs.core.windows.net/mycontainer' --recursive

  • Use https://example.com/imgs instead of C:\myDirectory in command below?

Simple answer is No. azcopy utility does not have support for enumerating contents of a folder on a remote web server.

I see you have also posted the similar issue discussion in SO  forum. Copying the resolution steps which helped in fixing the your issue, which would benefit the other community members who are referring to this thread.
