Unable to access http://<server_name:port>/<virtual_path>/Service/Service.svc after configuration RRS feed

  • Question

  • All,

After installation and configuration (as per the book) of the master data services, everything worked fine. I could start teh master data service application, manage my models/entities, explore the repositories, import/export etc ...

After doing several experimentation on models themselves I decided to look at the web services part. Following the recommendation I try to create the necessary WSDL through VS2010 (Add Web References) ... But didn't get much success when entering the proper URL address http://<server_name:port>/<virtual_path>/Service/Service.svc

When entering such URL into my browser I get the error message poted below.

Anyone with similar issue and hints on how to resolve is welcome :-) [I'm running on Windows 7, IIS7.5 and have redone several times the MDS configuration as per the book ]

         Thanks

    Pascal.

  • Xavave,

Thanks for the hints, but fimally I was able to get all things sorted out by looking in details in the "Handler mappings", Reverting to the Parent and moving up the svc-Integrated one :-)

  • Hello

    in IIS CONFIGURATION :

    - Add service role in server manager : Static Content

    - Add service role : Windows Authentication

  • Hi,

I got the same error. Static Content and Windows Authentication are installed as IIS roles.

    How to fix the problem?

    Win Server 2008 R2 Standard Edition x64.

    TIA

  • I've just solved the question. Like prochart above I added .svc handler on my IIS as it described here - http://blogs.microsoft.co.il/blogs/bursteg/archive/2008/12/01/wcf-on-iis7-on-vista-adding-svc-handler.aspx

    Thanks
