Windows Iot can't get GPIO on Intel Joule 570X RRS feed

  • Question

  • ENVIRONMENT:
    Windows 10.0.15063
    Visual Studio 2017 15.2(26430.13)

    REPRO STEPS:
Windows IoT Build 16193, 16226, and earlier version

    I follow all 4 steps: https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/iot/Docs/GetStarted/joule/GetStartedStep1.htm

    RESULTS:
HelloBlinky\CS demo can build and debug, also can run on Joule 570x,
    but GpioController.GetDefault() return null.

    NOTES:
Follow 4 steps for DragonBoard 410C, no such problem.

    Thanks!

  • if the device does not have a GPIO Controller GpioController.GetDefault() function will return null

  • I use Expansion Board, and BIOS is joule-firmware-2017-04-13-1F1-public.zip,

    joule-firmware-2017-06-02-1H3-public.zip can't even boot.

    Need more settings in BIOS?

    Thanks!

please ask Intel what they need for Windows 10 IoT Core and why your board can't boot with the latest firmware

few days ago another Intel Joule member had no issues to find a GPIO Controller GPIO Input Intel Joule so you can be sure its no Windows 10 IoT Core issue
