  • What if any software/hardware changes have you made recently?

Have you looked at device manager audio inputs and outputs, sound video and game controllers etc to see if there is/are any malfunctioning software?  And have you tried to update or uninstall and reinstall these drivers?

Did you check the computer manufactures web site for audio/sound applications or drivers?

Were you using any codecs that could have been accidentally deleted?

Have you looked at msinfo32 to search for any software conflicts etc?

There is also a component test in the bios for sound.  Have you checked the UEFI diagnostics of the hardware?

  • Hello,

The Windows Desktop Perfmon and Diagnostic tools forum is to discuss performance monitor (perfmon), resource monitor (resmon), and task manager, focusing on HOW-TO, Errors/Problems, and usage scenarios.

As the question is off topic here, I am moving it to the Where is the Forum... forum.
