Reportviewer custom code not recognized RRS feed

  • Question

  • Probably something simple but, I'm trying to implement some custom code in VS 2005 report under Report|Properties code tab. When I try to use: =Code.Blah(sample value) in the expression on a textbox in my .rdlc, it doesn't seem to recognize '=Code.'  properly. I've copied some "hello world" type code from samples to the custom code page. It doesn't seem to be the code. It acts like the 'Code.' member is not recognized. Can I only use this in tables or Matricies and not textboxes?

  • There are no restrictions on where you can use the Code variable.  Are you seeing the same expression work in a table but not in a standalone textbox in the report?  What error do you see when compiling/running your report?
