  • Silverlight is not available on Windows Mobile [yet]. It is expected with Windows Mobile 7 (though that is just an expectation, and not confirmed).

  • Hi PervasiveCoder,

Information about the Silverlight for Mobile product can be found at http://www.silverlight.net/learn/mobile . On that page it outlines the platforms (Windows Mobile, and Nokia Series 60) that will initially be supported and states "we plan to release the final version in 2009".

However as Joel metioned previously, the current thoughts are that this isn't likely, and it's more probable that we'll see a release in tandem with something like WM7.

Just recently Microsoft announced silverlight support for Windows CE Embedded, which in some ways is the core of what becomes Windows Mobile. However the embedded product is quite a different beast again (for one thing it's native C/C++ code and not managed). See http://www.microsoft.com/windowsembedded/en-us/news/pressreleases/cer3_release.mspx for info.

    Hope this helps,
