deleting power query connections RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello. I deleted power query connections in the power query pane (coming from tables in excel). I want to delete the tables in my data model but it says they were created in power query and must be modified there.....but I already deleted the connectinos and nothing is showing :(

  • Have you saved, closed and restarted Execel - I guess so. What happens if you go into connections inside Excel. Can you see them there? All I can think of is to try to rebuild the connection and load the table and see what happens. It may prevent you loading anger table with the same name I guess

  • The connection definitions are probably still on your machine depending on how you deleted them. Try to see if you can find them using the standard Excel ... Connections dialog path.

You might also be able to open the model using SSDT and then work from there.
