Reusable content on a publishing site using SharePoint 2010 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Problem: I can add reusable content to a html field control in SP2010, however if I add any web part to the same field control where the reusable content was I get displayed a hyperlink with the letter a inside it.  Html looks as shown below:  <div id="__publishingReusableFragmentIdSection"><a href="/ReusableContent/2_.000">a</a></div>

I have performed this on a SP2010 standard edition and get similar behaviour on Beta 2 enterprise SP2010

Question: I should be able to add web parts and reusable content in the same field control, is this a bug or am I missing something?

  • I've just tested this by creating a Publishing web site (SP2010 RTM)

I've added a Article Page (body only) with a reusable content ; I've added a web part and the reusable content doesn't show-up anymore. only the 'a'...

Same problem in the Enterprise Wiki...

    It is a bug.

  • Thanks Serge, thought was.

@John Ross - I used an the Artile Page (Body only).  I also tested it on the SP2010 beta 2 on another publishing page, it has the same issue but the 'a'...  is not visible.  The result is the same for Enterprise Wiki pages as Serge posted, tried it in a Enterprise Wiki page  -  'a'.. occurs.  Makes sense as it applies to the field control where you can put reusable content.

    Thanks guys for the replies.

  • I'd assume you are talking about using the Enterprise Wiki?

  • We've seen this issue in Office SharePoint Server 2007 (MOSS 2007) as well, so it's not something new in SharePoint Server 2010. This bug has been around for a very long time.

  • Hi Eugene,

In MOSS web parts can only be added to Web part zone, this issue only applies to SP2010 as I was adding a web part to a field control.  The issues in SP2010 is that we have a html field control, are inserting "re-usable content" and then adding a web part.

  • Hello.  Has this issue been addressed?  Are there any hotfixes available?  Will this bug be fixed in any future updates?

    Thanks,
