How to pass country code to unstructured query RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

    I am using the REST service to get locations. Due to the fact that I do not have complete address information I am using the unstructured query like

    http://dev.virtualearth.net/REST/v1/Locations?query=londo&key=myBingMapsKey

    To get bette results I am adding the culture as a query parameter

    c=en-GB

    But what can I do to get better results for other countries, that do not have a culture (at least not in the list of supported cultures (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh441729.aspx)? Lets say for Australia. Or Canada?

    I tried adding the query parameter

    countryRegion=AU

    But that did not work, because it is only useful in a structured query.

    Any suggestions?

    Cheers,

    Thomas

Answers

  • Just append the country to the end of the query like this: "London" + ", UK"
