VS Studio 2015, how to remove phone emulators?

    Question

  • I have updated VS to 10.0.10586.0 and the new emulators were installed with the update and they are working fine.  My problem is with the original 10.0.10240.0 phone emulators.  The are still in the "run" list and when selected, they cannot be found so they will not run.  My Target and Min Versions are still 10240.  So my question is how do I remove the old emulators from the run list?  Is there a way using VS 2015 or do I need to uninstall Windows 10 for Mobile Image 10.0.10240.0 to remove them?

  • Hi MV12,

As far as I know, we can install the phone emulators through "Download New Emulators..." in run tool as below image shows.

And all installed emulators will be listed in Control Panel -> Programs and Features. If you want to uninstall which one, please select it and then uninstall it.

If the old version is not listed in Control Panel, I suggest you uninstall all emulators and then reinstall the latest version. Which won't install the old version.

    Best Regards,
