Pop up notification not working in IE 11 RRS feed

  • Question

  • We have a .Net windows application for managing live WebEx meetings. In this application, we use a Pop up alert message for the notification of a meeting request. Recently we tested our application for IE 11 version. When we test the application in our local machine, the popup alert works fine . But when testing is done on the client machine for the same IE 11 version , the popup alert message doesn't appear over there . While for IE 9 ,the popup alert is working fine in both local machine and the client machine.

What can be the issue/resolution for this ?

  • Hi,

scripted window outcomes can depend apon

Your IE Popup blocker settings and the IE security zone that you map the site domain to and that of other third-party domains.

Any third-party popup blocker addons that are also installed.

You can debug your web page scripts using the Developer Tool. F12>Debug tab, select "Break on all errors", then return to your web page (without closing dev tools) or search the Debug tab for where the alert statement is called and place breakpoints at those line numbers.

  • Hi Rob

Thanks for the reply . We have tried debugging through the code for where the alert statement is called , and the code runs without any error . But the alert message dosesn't show up even though there is no error.

  • 1. Navigate to your web site.
    2. f12>Debug tab, click the break on error button (looks like a stop sign) and select "Break on all errors".

    3. Return to your web page (without closing developer tools) and perform your page tests. The DT will break on all errors.

If possible please include links to your website or a mashup, any Developer tool's console messages, with your questions.
