Placing custom ribbon tab AFTER File tab RRS feed

  • Question

  • I want to turn off Word's HOME tab (and add a custom HOME tab in its place), but the tab following the built-in Home tab is from an ADDIN.

    I'm having problems placing it correctly with the insertBeforeMso because the Home is hidden and the tab generated from the Word addin is the next tab and I don't know the tab id.

    How can I place my replacement (custom HOME tab) AFTER the File tab (in other words before the custom Addin tab)?   What is the tab id for the File tab?

  • Hi Orlandp,

    Thank you for posting in the MSDN Forum.

    Have you tried the code below?

    <tab id="customTab" label="Custom Tab" insertBeforeMso="TabHome">
    <tab idMso="TabHome" visible ="false">

    Besides, the File tab is actually called Backstage rather than tab, and it has no tab id. So, if the code given above cannot solve your issue, I suggest you contact your Add-In producer for the tab id.

    Hope it helps.

    Best regards,
