List Event Receivers in SP 2013

Hi All, I need to create a event receiver on itemAdded event of a single list. I started to do this using VS 2013. It asks to create farm solution. I think Sandbox solution is not working for this purpose. Why do I need to create a farm solution for this? I want this to specific Site. Also, I want it to attach this to specific list and not for all the lists in the farm. Could anyone guide me to create a simple event receiver for simple announcement list. I will add the functionality on ItemAdded myself. It's just how should i start and setup. I want to know the consequences of any step I would take. Why would I make a farm solution, how would i debug, etc
