Permission to User only create folder RRS feed

  • hi guys,

    how can i give only folder create permission in document library to user which is in my sub site.

  • Hi,

    Creation of folder requires contribute rights on doc library/list. if you are looking for solution like: create only folder and don't allow to upload file OR edit any file data then you have to look for custom solution. If you are looking for solution like: contribute only one doc library with all settings then you can break the permission at library level so user could have only contribute right in specific library.

    Go to library-->click library permissions from ribbon-->  click stop inheriting permissions-->click on user/group check box whom you want to give contribute rights-->click edit user permission-->select contribute permission and see the result.

  • i Don't want to show ribbon to user or ribbon shows than only enable create folder option not others which permission level will be select in my site permission level have following are levels available.

    List Permissions

    You need custom development.
    A folder is like an element / document.
    If you can "Colaborate", you can create delete folders

  • ok than how can i allow to show ribbon without giving admin rights. where user can create delete folder
