SQL Azure Data Sync require port 1433 open on-premises? RRS feed

  • To synchronize a SQL Azure Db with an on-premises SQL Db using SQL Azure Data Sync, does the port 1433 need to open at on-premises (like with the Sync Fw 2.1)?

  • SQL Azure Data Sync CTP2 will not require port 1433 to synchronize between SQL Server and SQL Azure.  Instead synchronization will be done through HTTPS (port 443) to the SQL Azure Data Sync service residing in Windows Azure.
