Multiple page size and orientation setting in SSRS RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi Experts,

    I am here with a new doubt.

    I have a multiple page report built in SSRS. It consists of three pages. I want to set the orientation of first page to landscape and the orientation of other two trailing pages to portrait. Please let me know if I will be able to achieve this in SSRS 2012 standard edition. By the way, I am using multiple subreports in this report.

    Please help me out at the earliest.

    Thanks,

    Ruchika

  • Hi Ruchika,

    According to your description, the main report contains multiple subreports and display as three pages. You want to set first page orientation as landscape and others as portrait, right?

    In Reporting Services, the orientation settings in Report Properties are applied for all pages within the report, it will ignore the orientation settings of subreports. And we are not able to specify different repot pages display as different orientation currently.

    So for your requirement, it can’t be achieved in SSRS currently. Personally, I would suggest you provide Microsoft a feature request at https://connect.microsoft.com/SQLServer so that we can try to modify and expand the product features based on your needs.

    If you have any question, please feel free to ask.

  • Are the contents of these pages coming from different containers ie different table. Or is it data from same container broken into pages based on group or something?

  • The contents are present in different subreports and I have applied page break between subreports.

    The report does not have anything else than five subreports.

  • Qiuyun;

    Is there any thought given to creating this capability within the SSRS tool?    This is a capability readily available in other tools.  I'm trying to use the SSRS and not have to incorporate other/third party tools to accomplish this simple task.

    Thank you,

    John
