Upgrade MS Access backend to MS SQL 2016, paste row to a data form no long working RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi There,

I updated a Ms Access database backend had just been upsized to MS SQL 2016, the front end is running in MS Access 2010. found one issue copy and paste mutiple rows from such as Excel no long working in the subform.

Say having three rows paste into subform, from subform you can see three rows been inserted, but it displays just first row three times. Is this render issue, how to make the subform properly show these three rows?

Anyone having any ideal? Is this the limitation after upsized to MS SQL backend?

    Thanks in advance.

    Tony

  • To exclude a render issue: Just requery (F5) your data.

Now, when you still have three rows showing the same data, then you need to check a few things:

First the data model. Has the table on the server the correct primary key set?

Then: Does Access/ACE know that key? It's important that your linked table in Access show the same key columns. Having the wrong columns here can lead to your symptom.

If the above scenario does not apply, then you need to check the columns displayed in the subform and the pasted data for the same number of columns and the identical order.
