How to authenticate user via smart card by asking PIN1?

Hello. I like to develop a login button, when clicked, opens popup where the user selects smart card certificate (registered in windows) and authenticates itself by enterin PIN1. Is there a way to do that? I have no idea where to begin at the moment. Some code examples would really help...
