Problem with kb953595 install RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • Hello. windows Update asked me to install KB951847 which was about .net framework 3.5 service pack 1.
After downloading and after installing for a long time, Windows couldn't install it and reported the following error message:

[02/01/09,21:40:59] Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0a: [2] Error: Installation failed for component Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0a. MSI returned error code 1603
[02/01/09,22:17:55] Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0a: [2] Error: Installation failed for component Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0a. MSI returned error code 1603
[02/01/09,22:18:57] WapUI: [2] DepCheck indicates Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0a is not installed.

Shall I install Framework 2.0a? I tried to install FW 2.0 but I got the same error.
    Any suggestion?
    Thanks

  •  Can you please use the collect tool: http://blogs.msdn.com/heaths/archive/2008/05/09/visual-studio-and-net-log-collection-utility.aspx for more information?

    Thanks.

  • Hi Harry2MS,

Could you please try to help me to use collect tool to collect the log files of .Net Framework 2.0 from your "%temp%" folder because you got the same error when you tried to install .Net Framework 2.0:
    http://blogs.msdn.com/heaths/archive/2008/05/09/visual-studio-and-net-log-collection-utility.aspx
(You also can get the collect tool from the link as MaxtheExpert mentioned as above.)

Then compress them into a zip file and post a link back?

    Steps:
    - Try to clean your "%temp%" folder
    - Install .Net Framework 2.0 separately
    - Collect all the latest log files or Collect Tool file logs from "%temp%" folder

    Thank you.
